There are two sections to this event:
T-Shirt Design Contest - The winning design will appear on our official T-Shirt and receive a $25.00 check.
Performance at Rolling Oaks Mall - Each participating student will receive a T-Shirt.

Important  Each section requires a separate entry form available on the SAMTA website or from the chair.  Students may enter either one or both sections.  There will be no exceptions for these rules and instructions so please read them very carefully.

Winter Festival T-shirt Design Contest

Design rules

• Student artwork must have a white background and employ no more than 3 colors (excluding the white background). 
• Dimension of the artwork must not exceed 8.5 inches by 11 inches.
• The artwork must not bear the name of the student.

Entry process

• Fill out one T-shirt Design Studio Entry Form. List students alphabetically.
• Make copies of the Individual Student Entry Form and fill in all the blanks for each student.
• Attach the Individual Student Entry Form to the student’s artwork with a paper clip.
• Arrange entries in alphabetical order by the students’ last name and put the Studio Entry Form on top.
• Send entries in a 9” by 13” or larger envelope via first class mail postmarked by the deadline to:

Winners will be announced in the November issue of the Ritornello.  Artwork design of the first place winner will appear on the official t-shirt and the student will receive a $25.00 check.
Rules regarding entry forms.
All blanks must be filled out.  Incomplete forms will be returned.

Only physical copies of the entry forms downloaded from the SAMTA website or from the chair will be accepted.  All other forms will be returned.

All entries must be mailed to the chair. We do not accept entries via e-mail.

Only one T-shirt Design Contest Studio Entry Form and one Studio Performance Entry Form per teacher.

Parents may not submit entry forms or contact the chairperson directly and the decision of the chairperson is final.

All deadlines are postmark dates.

If a family of a student winning the design contest wants additional t-shirts, this must be notated on the entry form. SAMTA makes only one order for t-shirts and this order cannot be modified.

Winter Festival

Objective:  To offer students of SAMTA teachers the opportunity to perform for the general public during the holiday season. This event is open to students of any age!

Performance Guidelines

• Each studio has a total performance time limit of 2 hours, regardless of the number of students entered.

• Instruments allowed: (a) All solo instruments. (b) Ensembles: Small choirs (up to 12 members) are welcome but risers will not be provided.  All instrumental ensembles are welcome as long as each individual instrument does not exceed 50 pounds.  **Please keep in mind that electrical outlets will not be available.**

•    If a student uses music, it must be the original. Photocopies are not allowed!!

• Teachers must be present at least 10 minutes before their studio’s performance time and during the entire performance.  Please strictly adhere to the time slot assigned.

Entry process

• Online enrollment will be available on the SAMTA website, and this is the preferred method of enrollment.   Each performer, excluding the teacher, counts as one student. If you do not have internet access, please contact the chair for an entry form.
  
• Print out a copy of your online enrollment and send it along with one check postmarked on or before the deadline to: Heather Stagg, 21419 Encino Caliza, San Antonio, TX 78259.
  
• Performance programs are welcome but not mandatory.  These programs should serve as a keepsake for your students, their family, and friends.  Please, no logos, sponsors or advertisers.  Programs may not be sold.
  
• Confirmation of performance time and location will be sent to teachers no later than one week prior to the event.
