TMTA Student Affiliate
Student Affiliate is a TMTA program which provides opportunities and incentives to students at all levels of musical development. Students enrolled as TMTA Student Affiliates may participate in any number of activities listed here:
Convention Ensembles Sharon Herning, chair
Local Performance Contest A. J. Collins-Thompson, chair
Original Composition Darlene Taylor, chair
Publication Contest Chair: Omar Granados, chair
TMTA Theory Tests Sharon Herning, chair
World of Music Test Ginny Godsey, chair
Students who participate in Student Affiliate activities for a number of years may be eligible for awards from TMTA. Visit the TMTA website at www.tmta.org or consult your TMTA Handbook for more information
Dues and Deadlines
Student Affiliate registration should be done online through the SAMTA website:
www.samusicteachers.org
Log in with your username and password. If you have forgotten these, click on Help. Follow the instructions, and your username and password will be emailed to you. If you do not have a username and password, email Pablo Aguilar at pablo@aguilar.com
Complete instructions for Student Affiliate registration are available on the SAMTA website. Click on student activities, then on Student Affiliate.
The dues for each student registering are as follows:
$8.00 - if enrolled online, and check and registration report are postmarked by September 23. If your check is postmarked after September 23, you will be charged the extra $1.00 per student.
$9.00 - if enrolled online after September 23
If you enroll students manually, your enrollment must be postmarked by September 23.
Students not entered as Student Affiliate members by the registration date of an activity will NOT be eligible to participatein that event.
Local Student Affiliate
There is no longer a Local Student Affiliate category. Any student of a SAMTA member may participate in SAMTA Student Recitals at no charge.
