Original Composition Contest
1.
Consult your TMTA Student Affiliate Handbook for information about
contest divisions, eligibility, submittal of manuscripts, state entry fees, and
judging and awards at the state level.
2.
See Yearbook for entry form. Completed
entry forms and entry fees must be postmarked no later than December
7, 2009. Please include fees
in one check payable to SAMTA.
3.
Students must be Student Affiliate members and must pass the Theory Test.
4.
Entries judged Superior or Excellent at the local level may be entered at
the state level. Manuscripts,
critiques and certificates of participation will be returned to all students.
5.
All local winners will perform their pieces in the Original
Composition Recital on January 17, 2010. At this time, the final version of
the manuscript and the state level entry fee must be given to the local
chairman.
6.
State level first, second and third place winners in each division will
perform their compositions at
the TMTA convention and receive cash awards.
Entry deadline: December
7, 2009
Local entry fee: $5.00
Depending
on the grade level, there is an additional $5-$10 fee for any composition that
is sent to the state level.
