Entrants must be Student Affiliate members and must pass the TMTA Theory Test.

• Consult your TMTA Student Affiliate Handbook for information about contest divisions, eligibility, submittal of manuscripts, state entry fees, and judging and awards at the state level.

• Entry form is available from the SAMTA website. Completed entry forms and entry fees must be postmarked no later than November 5, 2011.  Please include fees for all of your students in one check payable to SAMTA and mail to:

• Entries judged Superior or Excellent at the local level may be entered at the state level.  Depending on the grade level, there is an additional $10 fee for any composition that is sent to the state level.  Manuscripts, critiques and certificates of participation will be returned to all students

• All local winners will perform their pieces in the Original Composition Recital on January 16, 2012.  All local winners must return their corrected manuscripts by January 4, 2012

• State level first, second and third place winners in each division will perform their compositions at the TMTA convention and receive cash awards.
